We love garden rooms, after all, it’s what we do. But a garden room doesn’t need to be used for the efficient practical stuff like a home office, you could make it a dual function space, an office and a space for fun too. Let’s face it we’re all spending a lot more time in our homes right now and travel restrictions of one form or another look set to be with us for some time to come. So, if you want to spend some quality time with your family and friends and you want to turn your garden room into a luxury games room too, here are our top tips on what you need.

A Pool Table

No garden games room would be complete without a pool table. And you don’t need to restrict your buying choices to the kind of pool table you would find in a spit and sawdust pub either. A luxury pool table is often made bespoke and generally carved from a single piece of wood (usually beech) so not only can you enjoy a great game of pool with your friends and family you can make the pool table a statement piece in your garden room.

A table football table

Table football has come a long way in the past couple of decades and your experience of playing the game on a high-end unit is going to be significantly different to the ‘bought from Argos’ experiences of our youth. You could even customise your table with a Jack Daniel’s logo if you want to make your garden room games room look a bit like a Biker’s den!

A vintage arcade machine

Whether you’re more into Street Fighter 2, Space Invaders or Sonic no garden room is going to be complete without a retro arcade machine. Not only do they provide hours of fun for your friends and family they also look very, very cool. Of course, if you want to go really old school you can go for a sit-down, games unit and coffee table combo, like this one:

A Jukebox

Ok, so a jukebox isn’t a games machine but let’s face it you’re not going to have as much fun in your garden games room without some tunes. You can choose from a massive range which plays either vinyl or CD. Many of us will have a huge pile of records or CD’s that remain largely unplayed and gathering dust so now you have got the extra space why don’t you make the most of it, and put all those CD’s you bought in the ’90s to good use?
